Dreaded faction leader from Anantapur district in Rayala Seema region Muddelachervu Suri alias Suryanarayana Reddy was shot and critically wounded in Hyderabad on Monday evening.Reddy, who was shot in the head and the chest, has slipped into a coma, said doctors. Suri was a convict in the Jubilee Hills car bomb blast case of 1996, in which 26 people were killed. He was also a suspect in the murder of rival faction leader and Telugu Desam Party legislator Paritala Ravindra.

The condition of Ayazuddin, son of former Indian cricket captain and Moradabad Member of Parliament Mohammad Azharuddin, who was grievously injured in a mishap in Hyderabad, continues to be "very critical" for the second day on Monday. According to a medical bulletin issued by Apollo Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment, "The patient (Ayazuddin) continues to be in a very critical condition and is currently on a ventilator. He has multi-organ failure".

The health of Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, who suffered multiple injuries in a helicopter crash, was improving, a doctor attending on him said on Friday. "The good news is that the condition of the chief minister has fast improved. As the CM has no pain and the remaining parameters like pulse, blood pressure are satisfactory, we think he may be shifted to the ward from the ICU by tonight or tomorrow morning," neurosurgeon Dr Sanjay Kumar said.
